Social Club Helper
Organisation: Surrey Charity
This charity runs Social Clubs for adults with a disability including dementia. They provide quality care for the adult person being supported, thereby allowing the carers to have a well-deserved break. The Club at a Church Hall near Warlingham runs on Wednesday and Friday from 11.00 - 3.30pm and they need volunteers to come and befriend, socialise and engage with adults with varying disabilities including dementia, help make coffee, get involved with an activity (crosswords, quizzes or music), and chat or maybe do a bit of washing up. Very flexible time wise.
Organisation: Local Wildlife Trust
Assist in leading education sessions to inspire children and fulfil relevant curriculum objectives. Help with organising equipment in preparation for activities and tidying it away when activities are completed. Raise awareness about the work of the Wildlife Trust.

Join this organisation - train, guide and supervise cadets and other adults following the national structured Sea Cadet Corps Training programme. Volunteers can, depending on their skills, abilities and experience work as Officers, Senior Rates or Civilians. Full access to fantastic training.
Organisation: Local Museum
No formal qualifications needed but would suit a retired accountant or bookkeeper, or anyone who has a good knowledge of book keeping. The local charity has simple accounts, cash, cheques and no credit cards. Their system is currently a manual based system but could look to computerise to excel if the volunteer has the right skills.
Area Chairperson (Surrey East Area)
Organisation: Bereavement Charity
Urgently needed - an Area Chairperson for this bereavement charity which exists to promote the well-being of bereaved people and to enable anyone suffering bereavement caused by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss. The SE Area covers the boroughs of Epsom and Ewell, Mole Valley, Reigate and Banstead and Tandridge and manages the activities and volunteers. The Area Chair's overall responsibility is to ensure the Area is efficiently and effectively managed in order to maintain the standards of service required. The Area Committee meets once a quarter and consists of the Area Chair, Chair of the Client Services Committee of each branch, Treasurer, Administrator, Training Co-ordinator, and Fundraiser.
It reviews the running of each branch, the recruitment, training and development requirements, and major policy decisions, oversees the financial management of the Area and oversees the provision of high quality bereavement care services in the Area.
Books on Wheels
Organisation: County Council
This role involves delivering books to clients at home or nursing homes through illness. A visit to clients would be arranged on mutually agreed days to discuss their reading preferences then choose a selection of books and/or audiobooks for delivery to client the client based on discussions. A good knowledge of the library would be helpful. Full support given.
Organisation: Surrey Countryside Management Charity
200 grazing animals - sheep, goats, ponies and cattle across 14 different sites need volunteers to check the sites one day a week for a 1-2 hours a day including travel. All sites are checked once a week on a Monday, but ideally for the other six days a week they are checked by the volunteers,so new volunteers would need to be responsible and mature enough to take this on board - a stock checker for Marden Park – Woldingham is urgent.

A self-funded charity needs help in raising funds to support their services. They would be delighted to hear from you if you like making telephone calls, following up emails, and writing letters for support. Getting their name known and being able to ask for support for their fundraising initiatives from schools, pubs, and community groups is essential to their work.
