Current Events and Activities:

World War I

The Crafty Reading Group, who meet in the library monthly on a Thursday morning, have created a
stunning artwork with poppies to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.  This is displayed in the library at the moment and will be there until 16th November.  We will have a book display about the First World War from 5th - 12th November, including information about four local people whose lives we are commemorating.

Local History Evening: Wednesday 14th November 2018, 7pm — 9pm

"The  History of the Stone Family and Stoneleigh House"

Come along to find out about the early history of the development of Stoneleigh through the story of John Jeffries Stone and his family.  Discover more about the location of Stoneleigh House which gave Stoneleigh its name and its changing function from farmhouse to gentleman's residence, private nursing home to hospital and the people who lived and worked there.  This will be an illustrated talk plus an exhibition of photographs and maps.

All of our forthcoming activities are listed on our events page.
