The continued success of Hersham in Bloom depends so much on the support of our very loyal and hard-working group of volunteers.  We would welcome more help from anyone who feels able to assist in any way • occasional (or regular!) help with our working parties in the village • distributing leaflets • keeping the area in front of your house or business free of litter and weeds • taking photos • putting extra flowers or plants in your front garden •  coming to group meetings to share your ideas • offering us your surplus plants/bulbs

The 2016 Hersham in Bloom summer planting is now in place. 27 barrels, 1 new triple planter, 4 troughs and a number of other containers have been planted for the season. If you would like to assist in this rewarding work, which can also be great fun, just contact Mary Sheldon or Les Sharp.

We are grateful to Squire's and  Elmbridge Borough Couincil for helping us plant bulbs on the grass verge in Burhill Road. In combination, these have all brought a welcome splash of colour to the village. The current wet weather has slowed down the flowering of the new plants but increased the need for regular dead-heading and weeding. If you see any of the planters looking as though they are in need of some tender loving care please let a member of the group know or, alternatively, call Les Sharp on 01932 242482 or Mary Sheldon on 01372 467812.
