For the first time since the C17th this landmark  exhibition  at the RA will bring together  the outstanding
treasures  that changed  the taste of the nation. King Charles I amassed  one of the most extraordinary
art collections  of his age  -  acquiring  works by some of the finest artists of the past: TlTlAN,
MANTEGNA,  HOLBEIN,  DURER and commissioning leading contemporary  artists  such as VANDYKE
& RUBENS

THURSDAY 17th MAY 2018                                                    COUGHTON COURT,WARWICKSHIRE

Coffee stop en route to Coughton  Court. lt is one of the finest Tudor houses  in England and has been
the home of the Throckmorton's since 1409. The family still live there today. lt has fine collections  of
furniture, porcelain  and family portraits as well as a fascinating exhibition  on the Gunpowder Plot of
1605. The house stands  in 25 acres of gardens  and grounds along with 2 churches (both open to
visitors)  a lake, formal gardens and one of the finest walled gardens in the country. Refreshments
available in Coughton  Court.

One of the most opulent and beautiful  mansions  built in the early 1600's  by Sir Thomas Howard and
lived in until 1948. A wonderful palatial  interior containing Lady Braybrooks  private suite, newly
restored  Nursery suite, re-dressed  State Rooms containing  a famous picture collection  and some
rooms decorated by Robert Adam...Landscape gardens by Capability  Brown, working stables,  and
Organic Kitchen  Garden  and an 18th Century  gothic  style chapel for itl to enloy. Coffee on arrival and
other refreshments  available.
