Welcome to Ewell Astronomical Society - serving sky watchers in Southwest London and North Surrey.

Ewell Astronomical Society was founded by Phil Ringsdore in 1966 with Sir Patrick Moore as its patron. Following Sir Patrick's death in 2012 Professor Ian Morrison accepted an invitation to become the society's patron. A position he still holds.

Our meetings have been held in a number of venues since our inception including Bourne Hall and St Mary's church hall in Ewell and currently at Nonsuch High School for Girls in Cheam. Our meetings are held on the second Friday of each month in the library.

The society has use of a 10.25 inch SCT in the observatory on the roof of the school.

As well as the monthly lectures from professional astronomers, we have regular viewing evenings and user evenings.

There is a regular news letter called Janus available at our meetings and available on-line or for download from our Newsletter page.
