Following a fund raising campaign spearheaded by the Village Society the new pavilion was opened in May 2007 due in part to a grant obtained from DEFRA under its 'Rural Development Programme'. A new lease was granted by the National Trust to the Village Society for the use of the pavilion and cricket ground for a further 50 years.

The building has showers and toilets, a fully-fitted kitchen and comes with a marquee, tables and chairs. It is available for private hire for cricket and stool-ball, children's parties, wedding receptions, nature days for schools and any group who wish to make use of this great facility in an idyllic setting. This is a perfect location why not pay us a visit and see for yourself.

We are currently applying for funds to have a permanent solar-powered electricity source on site in order to provide sufficient power to run all basic equipment and a security system, if successful this will be installed by the end of July 2018. Generators will be required for longer events or parties, none will be stored on-site.

The pavilion can be hired by the half-day (3 hours morning or afternoon) or longer, the half-day rate is £40, other prices available on request. All hirers are required to sign a contract and must be over 25 years of age. A refundable damages deposit will be charged.  For large events it is essential that portable toilets are acquired. The pavilion and ground can also be hired by nomadic cricket teams. Please contact Becky Hopper on 01306 711754.

24 hour take-away hiring charges (included in the rate if you hire the pavilion but items can not be removed). The hirer is responsible for collection, return and insurance, a £100 - £500 returnable deposit will be charged.

Portable Generator £60
Marquee £60
Large Table (10 available) £1 each

The pavilion requires regular maintenance both inside and out to keep it in tip-top condition. Funds are provided by the cricket club, Capel Parish Council  and private hirings. If you would like to help please contact Becky Hopper.
