Whether you’re an experienced dancer, a complete beginner or somewhere in between, there’s a warm welcome waiting for you at Banwood Folk Dance Club.
Now celebrating its 90th year, Banwood is a friendly group that meets weekly to enjoy a variety of folk dances. You can experience everything from Playford and stately “maggots”, through lively English country dances to American Contras.
We have different callers each week who will walk you through the steps before the dance begins. Don’t worry if you don’t know or can’t remember how to do a ladies chain or California twirl – all will be explained!
With the emphasis firmly on having fun, expect plenty of laughter – especially when things don’t go quite to plan.
Several times a year we will have live music to dance to and occasional American suppers, when everyone brings a small contribution to the refreshment break.
Fancy giving us a go? We meet every Wednesday (except in August) at St Ann’s Church Hall, 4 Brighton Road, Banstead, SM7 1BS, from 8pm to 10pm.
Your first visit is free – and we hope you’ll enjoy yourself so much you’ll come back for more. You can either join as a member or pay-as-you go – neither will break the bank!
See the Programme page for dates, events and the list of our callers.
