The second Local Transport Plan (2006/07 to 2010/11) for Surrey was published in March 2006.
The first round of LTPs was submitted by all transport authorities to Government in July 2000, forming a funding bid for the years 2001/02 to 2005/06. The second round of LTPs focuses on the next five year period, from 2006/07 to 2010/11.
Surrey’s first LTP was successful in obtaining funding, delivering transport programmes and meeting targets. Each year, the Annual Progress Reports on the LTP have been consistently assessed by Government as above average, with the most recent one for 2004/05 being assessed as excellent. The second LTP now builds on this record of success. Analysis has identified both the most and least effective elements of the first LTP and the new programme has been developed accordingly.
