About us

The 50+ Network is part of The Better Government for Older People programme which recognises the value of involving people in developing  services and seeks to  "Improve public services for older people by better meeting their needs, listening to their views and encouraging and recognising their contribution".

The aim of Surrey 50+ is to provide you with the opportunity to be involved in making decisions about services in the community. There are over 1280 people on the Network across the County and members have already been involved in decisions concerning waste strategy, local health issues and future housing initiatives.

In the next five years, 50% of the adult population in Surrey will be over the age of 50.  The expectations of people between 50 and 65 are very different from previous generations.  It is in your interest to be involved in developing services for the future which take time to put in place.  Your involvement at an early stage is essential to generate the changes you would like to see.

You can be involved in a variety of ways, either by e-mail surveys, postal questionnaires, or by attending meetings with other members of the network.

Members of the network join as individuals and not as representatives of organisations, political parties or other agencies.
