Next Steps
The Surrey Strategic Partnership has set out a long term vision for the county based upon wide ranging consultation and has identified specific short term action that partners will undertake together over the next 3 to 4 years to make improvements in certain specific areas.
Its task is now to work with other key partnerships in Surrey to debate and identify stepchange improvements in service delivery that will contribute to achieving the vision for Surrey. It will do this in the following ways:
- Identifying what is being done by existing partnerships and organisations in support of the ambitions set out in the Vision for Surrey.
- Identifying important gaps that partnerships or organisations might respond to.
- Identify where the Surrey Strategic Partnership can add value the work of partnerships and organisations.
- Focus on specific countywide partnership actions that will significantly improve economic, social or environmental well-being and the quality of life for those that live and work in Surrey.
- Seek to influence the shift and pooling of resources to tackle agreed priorities.
- Continue to work with and engage with communities and individuals to ensure that they are able to play their part in this process.
In 2005 the members of the Surrey Strategic Partnership aim to publish a second community strategy for Surrey that will set out progress and plans in these areas.
