SHERE PARISH COUNCIL

(Serving the villages of Gomshall, Holmbury St. Mary, Peaslake, Shere and a large part of Abinger Hammer)

The civil Parish of Shere is the largest in area in the Borough of Guildford, Surrey.  It lies in the Green Belt, the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and an Area of Great Landscape Value.  It also includes three Conservation Areas. 

Shere Parish Council serves the four villages of Gomshall, Holmbury St. Mary, Peaslake, Shere and also a large part of Abinger Hammer (excluding the village centre).  The total electorate is approximately 2,700.  The Parish Council is responsible for administering local affairs and it also owns or leases much property and land throughout the Parish.
