This weekend has been an endurance of body and mind. 16 men play very competitive 5 aside football for over 27 hours. In fact 27 HOURS and 15 MINUTES to be exact. The event was witnessed by a host of dignitaries from both Surrey and Hampshire. The final score was a whopping win to the home team. The Collingwood Colleges Challengers won 536 goals to 362 for the Radio Basingstoke Bandits.

However the top scorer goes to Tom Quy. He scored 130 for the Radio Basingstoke Bandits. Practiacal one third of their entire tally.

Guinness World Record Attempt

John Morgan of Surrey County Council has organized a 5-aside world record-breaking attempt, in aid of charity. The charities that will benefit are NSPCC, Princess Alice Hospice and Hart Wildlife.

In conjunction with The Guinness Book of Records, with the support of 16 footballers, several referees, adjudicators, & witness's the event will take place at Collingwood College Sports Arena, Mitcham Road, Camberley, Surrey GU15 4AE from Saturday 17th October at 10am through, hopefully, to 1pm Sunday or longer!

The Mayor of Surrey Heath will start the event and there will be several Basingstoke & Deane as well as Surrey Heath councilors on hand to witness the occasion.

There will also be live music, from solo artists, duo's plus a trio of beauties 'Dollymixx' during Saturday afternoon and evening.

There will be a soft drinks stall on hand, also snacks available & of course the inevitable burger van.

Plus the St Johns Ambulance will be in attendance in case of injury.

A 5-aside football marathon is being staged at the Collingwood College, Camberley, Surrey on the weekend of the 17th and 18th October 2009. This football marathon is to set a New Guinness World Record in football endurance, while fund-raising for the NSPCC, Princess Alice Hospice and the HART Wild Life charities.

We URGENTLY NEED volunteers who want to get involve in a great RECORD BREAKING event for CHARITY. We need energetic, enthusiastic people looking for a challenge. We URGENTLY NEED your help to make this event work and raise money for CHARITY.

We also URGENTLY NEED two football kits and a set of indoor footballs. Can you help, would you like to be a sponsor?

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CHARITY EVENT (London, UK)– 29th June 2009 A football marathon is being staged at the Collingwood College, Camberley, Surrey on the weekend of the 17th and 18th October 2009. This is a great opportunity for keen men and women to volunteer and be part of great event. I am looking for medical professionals, referees, adjudicators and witness’s to join our world record attempt. Here is your chance. Even if you have stopped playing a sport, retired from playing professionally and want to be part of this event in one way or another? Then you can.

 

We are actively working with our sponsor Radio Basingstoke to promote this football marathon. The Collingwood College has been very kind to donate their sport complex free of charge. Another potential sponsor is the Championship club QPR.

 

The event is due to kick off at 10:00 am on Saturday 17th October 2009. The recently opened sports hall at the Collingwood College will be a magnificent venue. The target is to beat 24 hours 30 minutes.
