Planning
Planning applications are very sensitive. House-owners and developers want their schemes to go through while neighbours and other interested parties want to have their say.
Planning Applications in Normandy are scrutinised by the Parish Council before the planning authority, Guildford Borough Council makes its decisions. The Parish Council has no planning powers but is able to notify the borough council of its observations either making no comment or recommending refusal together with its reason.
The Planning Committee meets at 7.30pm before the full Parish Council meeting each month. Members of the public attending this meeting can make there views known and these will be considered by councillors before the Parish Council decides on how to respond to Guilford Borough Council.
The Chairman of the Planning Commitee is Mary Laker
