Parish Council Members

 

 

 

Philip Bailey

Philip has lived with his family in Limpsfield for the last 30 years and his three grown-up sons all attended the local Hazelwood School. He has a B.Sc. in Engineering from Surrey University, an MBA from Liverpool University and is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. After working with a major American bank in the City, in 1989 he started his own company that advises internationally on shipping finance and since 2011 it has operated from offices in Limpsfield High Street. He joined the Parish Council in July 2013 and is currently responsible for the Neighbourhood Plan.

Michael Bruning

Michael is a chartered accountant who has worked in shipping and venture capital. He grew up in Limpsfield and moved to Limpsfield Chart 35 years ago where he lives with his wife Pat. They have two grown up daughters who are both maths teachers. Michael joined the parish council in January 2015 and is currently responsible for Rights of Way.

Bernard de Haldevang

Bernie de Haldervang is Global Head of Speciality insurance lines at Sompo Canopias, the London based subsidiary of Japan's Sompo insurance group, based at Lloyds of London. He has over three decades of experience in the Insurance Industry , his original core practice including credit and political risk,war, terrorism, poltical violence and kidnap for ransom insurance lines. Following two years of articles at De Pinna, a West End law firm, he began his insurance career in 1983 as a political risk broker at Hogg Robinson Group plc and his career has included board, senior management and executive committee positions in London and East Africa at Berry Parker and Lyle Limited, Welington underwriting plc, Atrium underwriters Ltd and at the African Trade Insurance Agency, the Nairobi based multilateral insurer, which he founded for the World Bank as Chief Executive and Head of diplomatic mission. Most recently he spent over eight years at Aspen Insurance Group where he managed financial and professional liability lines, credit and political risk cyber, accident and health, piracy and kidnap for ransom insurance lines. Bernie is also a Governor of Step by Step School in East Grinstead, Vice Chairman of Limpsfield Parish Council and a Global Felow of the Project for the Study of the 21st Century (PS21) , a non-traditional think tank formed in 2015. He ives in Limpsfield with his wife and the three youngest of his five children.

Bob Harvey

Bob has lived in Limpsfield since 1983 and joined the parish council in January 2012. Originally in Wolfs Row and then the High Street, Bob now lives on the Chart - with his wife Julia and son Edward where he runs a timber agency business. Bob was Chairman of the Council from May 2014 until May 2016, and is currently responsible for Highways, Parish Property and the Chart playground.

Martin Hogbin

 

A local retired businessman, entrepreneur and physicist who has lived in Limpsfield for 10 years, Martin joined the parish council in May 2015 and is currently responsible for Intellectual Property. He lives with his wife in Detillens Lane.

Osmund Stuart Lee

Osmund joined the parish council in May 2015 and is currently responsible for Planning and Minerals with Anthony Turner. Osmund researched an aspect of climatic change in Cambridge before becoming a derivative fund manager in the City of London. He then worked in IT before becoming the full time carer for his three young children who are currently at Hazelwood and Warlingham Park schools. He lives with his wife and three children in Detillens Lane.

John Thompson

John joined the Parish Council in May 2015 and is currently responsible for Neighbourhood Plan matters He has lived in Park Road with his wife Eileen since 1986. They have two grown up children who also live locally. John was managing partner of a global human resources consultancy and is a Trustee/Board member of Tandridge Voluntary Service Coucil.

Anthony Turner

Anthony joined the Parish Council in May 2011. Resident of Limpsfield since 1985, married to Laila with three grown-up children. Anthony and his wife have their own business marketing tin metal produced in Peru and Poland. Responsible for the Planning and Minerals with Osmund Stuart Lee and for Limpsfield in Bloom. Anthony was Chairman of Limpsfield Parish Council from May 2012 until May 2014.

Mark Wilson

Mark has lived in Limpsfield since 1989, first in Padbrook and now in Hookwood Park with his wife Jaquie and their daughter. Mark received a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics, before joining the London offices of an American bank where during his 33 years of employment he held a number of senior management positions. Mark now runs his own management consultancy business.

 

Having joined the Parish Council in May 2011, Mark is the current Chairman of Limpsfield Parish Council as well as having responsibility for Finance and involvement in the Limpsfield Neighbourhood Plan.
