An amazing sacrifice
The darkness that covered the face of the earth
Has now disappeared and we’re promised new birth.
An amazing sacrifice was made on that cross;
A life given freely, but all was not lost.
A destiny realized, but what a price!
No justice there, just pain like vice.
But Jesus triumphed through this terrible death,
And man was set free, no longer bereft;
For Jesus is with us, His spirit will stay
To help and to guide us through life’s narrow way.
We celebrate now all you achieved;
The freedom we’ve won because we believed.
Please help us be worthy through each coming year,
And fill us with peace and take away fear.
