Welcome to the Guildford SRP
Registered Charity No. 282751
Scottish Charity No. SC038422
The Guildford SRP is one of 53 nationwide branches of the Society of Recorder Players. We meet monthly on a Saturday afternoon, from 2-5 pm with a break mid-afternoon for tea and a chat. We welcome all sizes of recorder from contra bass up to sopranino (though opportunities for sopranino are limited!) and the playing standard of our members varies from post beginner to diploma level. If you have not played in an ensemble before, or feel you are a little rusty, we have a separate smaller (tutored) group of improver ensemble players who meet at the same time as the main group, with which they join forces later in the afternoon. Once sufficiently experienced these players will move on to join the main group for the whole afternoon.
Our venues are either the Guildford Girl Guide HQ in Nightingale Road, Guildford, or Cranmore School, West Horsley. Please check before setting out for a meeting.
Click on (month) meeting in the Events Calendar for more information.
Visitors are very welcome. All music is provided, but you will need to bring a music stand.
Thank you to all who took part in the 2012 National Recorder Festival on 21st-22nd April, and for the positive comments that we have received. We have a few photos in our album, but would like some more! If you have any that you could let us use please email them to guildford@srp.org.uk. Many thanks.
Saturday's meeting , 19th May
Please note that the road through West Horsley is currently closed - this may affect the route to Cranmore School for those coming from the north of Guildford.
