I would like to apologise for anybody who was inconvenienced last month due to January's cancelled event as it fell to the weather, but the good news is that Sally-Ann Remnant has agreed to come back and speak to us at february's  meeting.

Sally-Ann Remnant a Sapphire Epilepsy Nurse now working at St Thomas's Hospital and the stides being made in the world of epilepsy. As most of you know , Sally-Ann used to be our Sapphire Nurse  at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford. Since her move to London, Sally-Ann has kept in touch with the branch , which we are pleased about.

Last month we held our Annual General Meeting at which David Richens stepped down after nine years of service to the group. We are sorry to see him step down but hope he enjoy's his retirement as a grandfater now. We also had our Christmas Party with lots of prizes in the raffle and most of us won something.

Gillian McCluskey was voted in as the next Chairperson of the Guildford Branch and has kept an experianced committee for which she look's forward to working with closely. Gillian has been a member of the group since 2002 along with her support dog Harvey and her mother ,Shelia. Gillian suffered with longlife epilepsy until September 2008 when she had successful brain surgery. Now she is seizure free and is enjoying a new chapter in her life.
