Coffey Holland

We are very sad to have to announce the death of Coffey Holland, long time member and local historian who has served the Group in many capacities for many years, most recently as convenor of our meetings. She will be sadly missed.

Surrey Archaeological Society's Symposium 2009

The topic for next year's symposium has been announced. It will be 'Medieval and Post Medieval Houses'. 

 

Convenor

We are looking for a convenor to look after the booking of our speakers as a matter of urgency. If you think you might be able to take on the task please get in touch with Kathy.

All subs were due in January so if you have not yet paid please get in touch with Terry.

 

Dorking History 2008

Our journal has now been published. If anyone should want extra copies for friends/neighbours they are available at £2 each.

 

Walking guide

Last year the Group advised local writer Les Ham on historical aspects of his walking guide to the Surrey Hills between Dorking and Guildford. The book has now been published and is available from the author through his website: www.leshambook.co.uk
