Sonia Hunt's 40th Birthday Bash
SONIA HUNT’S 40TH BIRTHDAY BASH
APRIL 2009
Well, what can I say? I can’t believe that I am 40 now. When I was born, everybody thought I was not going to live. But look at me now. I celebrated my 40th in style with a bit of a Tudor theme. My greatest passion is history, especially as I am in a re-enactment society. So wonderful Wendy, like a second mum to us all, and Maggie, a true good friend and Jane – they are salt of the earth – Rule Britannia Chicks – Yo Wicked! My big birthday bash was very colourful. It was in the traditional Tudor colours, burgundy and gold. Wendy, Gill, Diane, Maggie and also Jane did a brilliant job for me, my pals and my work colleagues taking us back in time to the 16th century. It looked magnificent. I felt like one of Henry VIII’s wives, Anne Bolyen, of course, my heroine. I was overwhelmed. We even had our very own master of ceremonies and music, Colin. He played all the hits of my 40 year life from the sixties to the current day. I was born in 1969 when Neil Armstrong went on the moon and Prince Charles became the Prince of Wales. It was very emotional. My friends from the Skills Centre we are all like one big happy family and my re-enactment pals and also Church pals too were there. Everybody loved it, especially me of course, number 1. But I was very very honoured because we had a very important guest, our gracious sovereign, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II arrived and she let me borrow her throne and one of her crowns. She was pleased to be among us all. Once again a special thank you to Wendy, Maggie, Jane, Gill, Diane and everyone else who helped arrange a brilliant party and for all they did to make my birthday bash come to life, especially the Tudor theme. Touch wood we didn’t lose our heads!
